Saltwater doesn’t conserve fresh in the end. Here are a few tips that helped bucket laundry work for our crew: It was an adjustment from land life, but not a big deal it suited our new life, where everyday tasks didn’t need to be completed as efficiently as they did in our previous hamster-wheel existence. We used a bucket (or a series of them) for the first eleven years of cruising. If everything on a boat needs at least two uses, they’ve nailed it with this cooler! It not only keeps things cool but is a paddling pool for their small children, has a Dinghy Seat mode (pictured here!), and makes a marvelous large tub for laundry as well. We highlighted their multi-function use of a cooler in a 2019 post about useful tools for cruisers. Or, as in the case of the crew of Pablo, aka Saltymatey - a cooler. First, consider that it might not be a bucket.
